Fall Holy Days – Study Guide Material
The Memorial of Trumpets Study Guide introduces the fall festivals and begins on the new moon, in the seventh month of the Biblical calendar. This year, in 2017, Trumpets is anticipated to be September 22nd , subject to the visual confirmation of the new moon crescent from Jerusalem. The 7th month begins the new calendar year.
“Rosh Hashanah” is celebrated with the blowing of trumpets (Lev. 23:23-25). The Feast of Trumpets is a powerful prophetic look forward to the Day of YHWH and the return of Yahushua Messiah. The Feast of Trumpets sounds a dire warning of global war along with the triumphant return of Yahushua accompanied with His saints. This day represents the culmination of the present age of man and the beginning of an incredible time during which YHWH will play a proactive and direct role in world events.
The Day of Atonement Study Guide examines the fundamentals of this most solemn and important holy day. This holy day is a fast day not a feast day. In the first contract, the Day of Atonement was the day the Levitical High Priest made an atoning sacrifice for the sins of the people. This act of atonement brought forgiveness and reconciliation between the Israelites and YHWH.
The Day of Atonement, like Passover, teaches us about forgiveness of sin and our reconciliation with YHWH through Yahushua’s sacrifice.
The Feast of Tabernacles Study Guide details the festive 7 day period immediately following The Day of Atonement. The Feast of Tabernacles is known as The Feast of Booths or Sukkot in remembrance of the Israelites living in temporary shelters (booths). This festival pictures a time of universal happiness and abundance when the entire world will exist in peace. Sukkot looks forward to the time-frame when Yahushua’s ruling monarchy will be the only governmental authority on the Earth. This will truly be a new world order made directly by the hand of YHWH.
This feast pictures the restoration of the Earth for a 1,000 year period, following 6,000 years of Satan and manmade chaos.
After the completion of Sukkot, there is one final Holy Day in YHWH’s plan. It is a holy convocation and is simply called “The 8th Day” in Leviticus 23:36. This Holy Day solemn assembly follows the seven days of the Feast of Tabernacles (as the eighth day). The 8th Day (AKA the Last Great Day or the 8th day of the Feast of Tabernacles) pictures the completion of YHWH’s plan of salvation when a glorious new heaven and new Earth replace the physical universe as we know it.
